Director
Dr Nevilene Slingers is the Director of I4H. She is currently overseeing the programme management of the Imagine Social Impact Bond for Adolescent Girls and Young Women through the Office of AIDS and TB Research Unit at the MRC. Dr Slingers, who has a background in medicine and business administration, has previously worked donor coordination and has extensive experience working with international organizations for South Africa’s HIV and AIDS response.
Director of SAMRC OATB
Dr Fareed Abdullah is the Director of the Office of AIDS and TB Research. Fareed is a medical doctor who was involved in activism during the AIDS denialism era and is currently responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in his capacity as a public health medicine specialist, has a strong interest in pivoting the health system to more impactful outcomes for patients. Fareed has experience in working in the public sector and strengthening networks and relationships with the private sector.
Technical Lead
Dr Lee-Ann Davids is the Technical Lead for Monitoring, Evaluation and Research of I4H. She has experience across research, management and clinical roles. She held Principal and sub-investigator roles on numerous infectious diseases trials with a dominant focus on Tuberculosis, HIV, SARS-CoV-2 vaccines and Cryptococcal Meningitis. She was also the Sub-District manager in the Cape Metro on the APACE (Accelerating Programme Achievements to Control the [HIV] Epidemic) Programme. And her clinical role consisted of Primary health care usually in high burden HIV and TB settings, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Emergency Medicine.
Data Steward
Dr Petro Rousseau is the data steward for the programme. The focus of her role is to advance the development of the ecosystem for Outcomes Based Approaches, Innovative Financing and Outcomes Based Contracting in South Africa and the Southern African region. Petro is a health professional with extensive experience across the different levels of the health sector, in the public, private and non-governmental sector. She is known for a strategic and focused approach towards the use of people-centric, co-created solutions for health and well-being of individuals, families, communities and organisations.
